This program brings together music that is tender, introspective, and vividly alive. We begin with a brand-new string quartet by Kian Ravaei commissioned by Sheffield Chamber Players, followed by vocal selections that cut to the emotional core of love and loss. Zoltan Almashi’s haunting I Had a Dream; Caroline Shaw’s intimate And So; Debussy’s dreamy Trois Chansons de Bilitis; and Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion all carry the audience and performers on a shared journey along the spectrum of human emotion. ~ Christina English
