András Schiff explains Bach

Adras Schiff is my favorite keyboard interpreter of Bach by a long shot. His interpretations manage to keep the earthbound and the spiritual in Bach's music in perfect balance. At no point does the technical difficulties of execution seem to hold him back from staying true to the compositional structure and its musical essence.

Whenever I work on my Bach, Andras Schiff's performances inspire me to hold myself up to these standards, or at least do my very best to try. Join me here on at 5pm this Sunday evening for a live stream of Bach's 6th suite! Until then, I hope you enjoy this video interview with Andras—it's in German, but the subtitles are provided and what he has to say is really worth hearing.
