About the event

Are you looking for something really special to do this Mother's Day? Skip the breakfast lines and bring Mom to a beautiful chamber music concert at the farm. Join us for some beautiful music, doors open to the patio if weather permits, and light refreshments. Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged.

This program, titled after Béla Bartók’s description of the cabin in the Adirondacks where he lived and wrote music during the last summer of his life, examines each of our deep-seated need to find our place in the world. Bartók’s String Quartet No. 1 in A Minor appears on the program with two other string quartets: Franz Schubert‘s Quartettsatz, a single movement from an unfinished quartet; and a newly-commissioned work by acclaimed American composer Kenji Bunch, the much-anticipated second installment in Sheffield's 5-year commissioning project. Find out more about the program here.

Free and open to the public. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Winchester Cultural Council and Massachusetts Cultural Council.
