Sheffield Chamber Players

9 Arborway Terrace

Boston, MA 02130

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council

and administered by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture.

Sheffield Chamber Players is founded on the belief that experiencing chamber music in the intimate settings they were written for profoundly changes the way we respond to music, and to each other.

We invite you to sit down in the comfort of a friend’s home, perhaps with a glass of wine in your hand, and listen to music with an open heart and a relaxed mind.  Sitting just a few feet away from the musicians, you can hear the performance and all of its expressive subtleties with unprecedented clarity.

We enhance this experience by giving an extended introduction to each piece. In our musically illustrated talks we discuss the composer’s background, the story behind the music and showcase crucial moments as well as important themes and ideas of the work before we perform it.

The response to our performances has been tremendous and the enthusiasm for this project is growing!  We invite you to take part in this experience! Please take a look at our season and consider subscribing to our mailing list if you are interested in receiving invitations to our performances. You can also listen to samples of our playing recorded live or even host one of our concerts in your home.
